Soliloquy
If I could wish a wish
Demand not jewellery or Irish
Gold, no material wealth for me
Palatial palaces of incroyable width
Hosting balls of gowns and scribbled checks
And yachts stacked high with gourmet on deck
Matters not when the soul is not full
Polished pretty in a nighttime suit
Potions to cure any carnal debt
Providing falsettos of hope to broken souls
Ask not for these toys of the night
I do not seek the wildfire warmth of a neon glow
I seek eternal effervescence from the spring of my soul
To taste the light sweetness of contentment upon my long-awaiting lips
To have my bitter scars graced by another and be held in just the same faith
To seek my Great Perhaps!
Before that damn curtain closes
